Toronto Pearson-Port Hope
Ok.
Help.
Im visiting friends in the Port Hope/Cobourg area in 3 weeks time.
Im struggling to find a decent way of getting from Pearson airport to there!
My flight lands at 10:40, i give an hour to get through customs, receive luggage and etc, so were thinking 12 ish i can travel.
Now there is a direct coach from Coach Canada from pearson to port Hope, but its $30 each way and doesnt leave till 2.30pm.
There doesnt seem to be a normal TTC bus or subway from the airport to downtown (lmao, thats pathetic. i mean, surely this is a very busy journey
)
the airport express wouldnt really work cause thats like $13 for a student there and then the VIA rail train fares are a joke.
I've found out Greyhound have buses at both Pearson and Port Hope, but there are no route information or times n stuff on the website :@
any suggestions?
Im on a budget so id rather not Fork Out $60 bus fare but then again i dont want to wait around for 4 hours at the airport.
Any help much appreciated.
Jake

There is a TTC bus that will take you to Kipling station, jump on the subway and get you downtown all for $2.75 (<-- try getting into downtown London for a little over a pound). There are also 2 other buses that take you to subway stations from the airport. There is also a GO bus that links 2 subway stations to the airport (about $3.50 + TTC Fare)
To get to the downtown coach terminal it will probably take you a bit over an hour. I don't think its worth it. Catching that 2:30 bus is probably your best bet out of pearson, your flight could possibly be delayed anyways.
Your not in the UK anymore, don't expect incredible public transit on this side of the pond. Especially to Port Nowhere, I mean Port Hope. If you had checked ttc.ca theres a huge link that says AIRPORT SERVICE. I'm actually suprised there is a direct bus to Port Hope from the airport. Failing that if you had consulted GTAA.com Pearson airports official website you would notice the "getting here" link:
http://gtaa.com/en/travellers/airpor...transportatio/
Considering you expect to be out of Customs at 12 noon, thats only a 2.5 hour wait for the bus, thats all assuming everythings on time. I say grab lunch and nurse a few beers. There really isn't anything pre secuirty in Terminal 1, just a basic cafe. So perhaps take the free airport train to Terminal 3 as it has a bit more stuff to do without clearing security.
If your really bored hop in a taxi and head to the landing strip.
Be sure to look left then right

Coach Canada is your best bet I think. Port Hope is about 75 miles from the airport, its like going from London to Southampton, doesn't sound too bad for 15 quid.
If you really want to save try a rideshare, you might get lucky.
