Tourist attractions for family with 2 yr old in LA

Hi,

My wife and I will be cruising to LA this fall from Vancouver with our 2 yr old daughter. We are wondering if anyone can share ideas about where we can visit in LA or nearby areas (for both adults and especially for our daughter).

We also thought about the zoo and seaworld in SanDiego, but had concerns whether it would be too overwhelming for her (she also takes her naps in the early afternoon) and the driving distance.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
