[Amazon.ca] TP-Link Wi-Fi Smart Plug: $19.99

Image

Lowest ever pricing as per the "camels". Very comparable to Belkin Wemo's, no need for a central hub.

Works with Google Home and Alexa flawlessly, with instant reaction.

The larger TP-Link Smart Plug (HS-100) smart plug is back on sale for $19.99 at Amazon.ca and Bestbuy.ca. This product is eligible for the Prime 2 days or 1/same day shipping.

This is not the lowest ever (lowest was $18.98 according to keepa.com on July 12 2017) but still a good deal.

I think this model will be phased out for the mini version that's equal in functionality without blocking adjacent power sockets.

Does the mini work the same? This would block both outlets on a normal sized receptacle?

There's also a subscribe & save option with an extra 5% off. I wonder if you go for that if the price will always be $18.99 until you cancel.

Tried again. Worked this time. Thanks OP - was looking at these the other day (and these go perfectly with the Echo deal a couple days ago from Telus!)

Thanks OP. This is EXACTLY what I was hoping would go on sale. Going to setup the wife's scentsy on this for voice control and the LED backlight strip on my TV.

That's not how Sub and save works. You only guarantee your next shipment at that price. Any shipments after the first one will be at the current price of the time of shipment.

I have both the HS100 and HS200 (mini) and the app works in the exact same fashion. The HS-200 is a lot smaller meaning you can put 2 of them in the wall plate. I however was still able to put the HS-100 at the top socket and plug in my mini oven (3 legged socket) below the HS-100.

HS-100's power on indicator is right on the button (on the front next to power outlet) while the HS-200's power on button is on the side with the indicator light and power outlet on the front. If you have tight horizontal space and wish to turn the unit on physically, the HS-200 could be slightly harder to get to.

You mean the HS105 mini? The HS200 is the wall switch.

I think the HS100 and the HS105 are functionally the same, but the HS105 doesn't block the other socket with its much shorter height. As for width, it's exactly as wide as a standard wall socket plate. I'd rather have the HS105 mini, but this price is a good deal for the HS100 if you don't mind the bigger size.

The HS105 mini was on sale for $19.99 at BB a few weeks ago, and in BC there was a $5 instant rebate from BCHydro (rebate offer appears to be gone now).

Thanks OP

This will come in handy with the Xmas tree lights.

Cheers!
Thread started in 2016 - 1927 fully gutted and renovated 2 storey detached home in the big T.O. - small projects still in progress.

RFD priceless!

How does this one work with Alexa, you just tell it to turn off the bedroom plug? :P

I own two of these and I highly recommend against this version. The 'mini' one is much better.

This one blocks the other outlet, no matter how you place it. It's large and cumbersome.

Keep that in mind. The mini has been on sale for 25 bucks (and I'm sure it'll go that low again) so I see no reason why anyone now would buy these.
