You should definitely check out E. Hastings and Main around 11pm. That's usually when the party crowd comes out and you'll have a blast mingling with the locals!

Whenever we go out to Vancouver there are a few things we like to go to besides the normal Stanley Park, Robson Street, Granville Island Market things etc. We take the kids and they really like it.
1. Horseshoe Bay, we always go to Troll's Restaurant for a quick bite to eat, Whytecliff Park and then a ferry ride over to Langdale. You can also rent a boat at Sewell's Marina at Horseshoe Bay and go fishing.
2. Lynn Canyon Park, there's ecology centre and a suspension bridge. Nice scenic hike down to the river below. The suspension bridge is free, why pay to go to the Capilano Suspension Bridge.
3. Capilano Salmon Hatchery
4. Lighthouse Park
5. Chinatown and just north of it is Gastown
6. Sunset Beach Park and Ambleside Park
7. Steveston Harbor in Richmond, Pajo's at the wharf, probably has the best fish n chips in the metro Vancouver area.

Yikes. See what happens when you are in a hurry? Give us more info-what you like to do, age, budget...
I aways tell people to go to Vij's restaurant-no reservations, but omg....Indian food like you have never had before. Just typing has me salivating.
I always get a bike when I am there as it is easier to get around that way. Traffic is not good.
