travelocity vs nwa
Hi all,
I am booking a trip out of Detroit and was wondering it would be cheaper to do it from travelocity or straight with the airline (Northwest Airlines). Are all of travelocity's prices in CAD$? It does the conversion on the site but I wasn't sure what would be on my CC bill.
How is travelocity's currency conversion compared to my CC? I know my CC has a 2% conversion fee but otherwise I am not sure which conversion rate they use.
Thanks for any advice.

won't it be easier to just quote on both? or even more sites like Expedia, Orbitz, etc.
or AJAX sites like www.kayak.com which compares for you
visit the "Last Minute Travel" thread
I imagine most US sites will charge you in US, and your CC exchange rate is probably still better than theirs

travelocity will charge you a $5-10 booking fee for each ticket booked on their site. if you use the .ca site, airfares should be quoted in CAD.

If the fare is quoted directly from the airline's CRS in Canadian, you are better off than having the CC convert the funds. In most cases, the 'EQUIV CAD' fare is only fractions more/less than the current spot exchange rate.

Northwest will charge your credit card in Canadian, if you select "resident of Canada" when you make the booking on their website
