Tripod - Carry-On for AIRPLANE

Quick and simple question...

You think US AIRWAYS will let me bring on a TRIPOD with my camera bag as a carry on ???

I think you can. IIRC there are rules that state you can carry on professional equipment? I would think you have to pay more though....

It's it or miss.

I've traveled with a lightly SLIK and Manfrotto in my carry-on.

When I had a heavier Manfrotto, they insisted I check it as it could be used as a weapon they said.

I always check tripod anyways. My bag gets opened everytime going through the US as the ball head I have prolly looks like a bomb...I always take the ball head off and wrap it up in a towel to protect it. That's the only thing that ever looks touched when i get my luggage back. So that's what's flagging inspections I believe.

Where you traveling to?

I'm going to a wedding down in the states....

Virginia to be exact....

Going to drive down to Buffalo first and then hope on the plane to fly down....

I can always check-in and ask first... and if I can't.. I'll just leave it in my car :S

I would also be strapping it on my Lowepro Versapack AW200... on the outside .. if that even matters...
