You can always write "sold" in your thread title to let everyone know its gone.
That's what most people do.

My experience with paypal has been good.
People say they don't do paypal, but the guy in my DNT List took my money, scammed a bunch of others on WD harddrives, me on the 7800GT, in the amount of 250 and I got my money back by filing a case with paypal.
I'm still wondering why this guy hasn't been banned on RFD.
Sorry for thread jacking.

These cases go for $300,00 on Ebay and he offered it to me for $170,00 shipped.
Dude, you may have been dealing here more than i have and you probably have seen more scammers than i have but i prefer to prevent a scam than get a deal on a product that i'm looking for.
How the hell is getting ur item shipped to you first, getting scammed?..nevermind the fact that it might be an empty box.... you receive it... and u've lost nothing.... no scam... stfu and quit being paranoid. He even offered to use paypal...it sux but it's a security net.... scammers don't like to use paypal.

I guess what i meant by all that is that u can get ur moneyback atleast, rather than a money/wire order that you'll never see again.

uhhh..I think were gettin a lil out of hand with this trolling stuff hahaha.
come on, he offered to ship first, what more could you ask for? when I see that someone is willing to ship first, its a done deal. Who cares what comes in the box, if its not the product u ordered, then finger him and dont pay tha money.
But oh well. Oh and lets not ASSUME plz, its ok if we talk about someone who may sound like a scammer in PRIVATE, but doing it public n stuff? that kind of ruins someones reputation, I wouldnt like it if someone was suspicious about me in public. It would hurt my reputation cuz people will have second thoughts n things like that.
If someone seems suspicious, tell a MOD in a PM, and see what they can do first. Then contact previous sellers/buyers that dealt with him, and then if it really sounds like a scam and you havent received your product n stuff THEN make a thread about it.
Its nice that you care about others, but other people have to be responsible too and should take cautious steps.

Mmm, overall after reading the thread... it was still pre-emptive, you cant go around ruining someone because they might do something, dangerous precedent.
I'm new, and I'm making two big (300-500) buys this weekend... all were willing to deal with me regardless of my single digit posts, and no heatware LUCKILY. How else am I ever going to get it up? :P
But, you know what? It's the digital age, if you are worried about someone... have them scan you their drivers license, perhaps some blacking of parts of the #...but voila. You cant go wrong with pick-up and cash (but make sure to go to bank/atm with them to avoid funny money as one of the seller's i'm dealing with has suggested we do, which i'm glad he said because I never would have thought of it for myself later otherwise).
It really hasnt been too difficult for me to get involved in the transactions here... hoping after these two I can sell some old parts, cheers to all the new legitimate people
.
Edit: and oh yea... i got scared when i saw the title of the thread... New and uses PM's... I was like, Ahhh, i'm new and Ive pm'd people too! lol

He told me he was from Edmonton he only execpted Paypal and would ship his comp for $100 from Edmonton to me here in Onatrio. I came on today and he is banned I didn't even check his heatware and I always check heatware. I sent the $100 paypal and he gladly excepted and haven't heard from him since. I guess the reason I am so pissed is I have had such a positive experience here but just got to comfortable. My wife always says I am way to trusting of people. Well I guess I was the sucker that was born every day today that is. Do not deal with this guy. Hope someone learns from my mistake.

LOL, this guy doesnt quit. I have a cheap PC I'd sell ya for ur friend. Msg me if ur interested still.

As a new comer to these forums, but advid ebayer, and scammed on ebay and paypal transactions, i can attest to some things.
Paypal as direct payment from any forums, and site other then ebay are not guarenteed from paypal, they will not reimburse if scammed.
If item is from a ebay auction, and ebay warranties it ( buyer protection plan ), but paypal says unconfirmed address ( ebay will not reimburse if scammed nor paypal)
If ebay purchase and buyer protection and paypal confirmed address, You still get squat as all person has todo is close paypal after taking funds and paypal can't get back funds.
As you can see paypal is useless and very easily beaten by scammers, but as a seller I have come across a few things that may save your ass.
Always using trackable shipping, insurance for more $ of what item is worth new even if used, take pics of items serial numbers before shipping, and finally request signature. So if you ship item to Bill Gates, and Bono Junip signs, courier at fault and insurance will pay if you are scammed.
Now if you shipping COD to someone ( always request cash as means of funds ) cause money orders can be cancelled and post office takes cash and makes a valid money order and sends back to you once they receive cash so they take burden of fake bills.
As a buyer, if weiry request items sent COD with insurance and say you will pay the fees.........you get empty box its fraud and post office will reimburse with insurance. If you get item you get item and happy.
If seller will not ship COD you have to consider a few reasons...why....needs $ quick ( less then 2 weeks ) but why they trying to sell for week and no offers, duh....take offer of cod as least item sold. Or they may have no intensions of shipping item.
Yes i know some people are real, but the scammers spoils it for good transactions all the times.
