well not bad if you can apply the kellogg's coupons to each game..
e.g. pick 2 $35 games, apply 2 Kellogg's $5 coupons = $42.50 total for both games

Any idea how the pricing works for the game that is discounted? For instance, if you purchase a DS game for 39.99 and then choose a Wii game for 49.99 would the cheaper game of the two be the one that would receive the 50%?

It all depends on what you want, of course. But generally speaking, the first-party ("Nintendo"-made) games are of high quality, whether you want platformers (New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Warioland, Super Mario Galaxy), kart racing (Mario Kart Wii, Excitebots), First-person shooters (Metroid Prime), etc.
The reason the Wii has a bad rep for horrible games is because there's a lot of shovelware out there. But there are quite a few underrated games (Zack & Wiki, Madworld, No More Heroes, The Conduit) that weren't really noticed.
Maybe you could check www.gamerankings.com and see the highest-rated games. That should give you a head start.
And thanks for the heads-up, OP. I wish they'd bring back B2G1F...but maybe they can't afford it. :P
