Trustworthy mechanic in the Beach?
After 25 yrs of suffering the TTC, my head exploded in frustration last fall and I broke down and bought my very first car (used, from Autoshare)!!
Can anyone recommend a mechanic that won't take me for a ride? Near the Beaches or near U of T would be ideal. TIA

There is a shop at Greenwood and Sammon on the south east corner. I was last there many years ago but live too far away now. I do not know if they are still there. The two Italian brothers that ran/run the place were/are honest. Peter and Mauritzio.

+1 for Greenwood auto centre at Greenwood and Sammon. I bring my car there whenever I need work done.

I can only speak for myself: no personal affiliation.
So, stellamamma: are you stella or is that for the beer?

It depends what you're driving, since garages sometimes specialize in certain brands, which is nice, cuz when the sheit hits the fan, these guys are expert specialists. Knowing lots about a little is better than knowing a little about a lot.

The beer is Stella Artois ... I am the Stella Mama .. the one, the only, the doesn't-know-jack-about-owning-a-car one
Like, I have to get an emissions test in the next few days before I can renew my plates before I go on vacation. Squeeeeee, things I never knew I had to to add to my to do list. Oh, and pay David Miller's new car tax. Miller dude, I went without a car for 25 adult years ... YOU SHOULD BE PAYING ME, no, GIVING ME AN AWARD for holding out this long.
Oops, that's another topic altogether.

Drew, very true. It's a Suzuki Aerio. If I can figure out how to add washer fluid, I am sure any mechanic can figure out why it isn't making it to my rear window, in spite of pump motor sounds
