TSCC: Skullcandy Ink'd earbuds
Hi.
After going through many expensive earbuds (the daily grind at the gym breaks them down), I've settle on Skullcandy earbuds. They're not the greatest but the sound is honest, they fit in the ear nicely, they block enough outside sound in the subway and... they're cheap. When they break down (they all do), you only loose 15-25$, not 100$.
All this to say that the Skullcandy Ink'd earbuds are on sale again this week at The Source by CC. Usual price: $24.99, sale price: $14.99.

For this price range, you'd be much better off getting the Creative EP-630's from Dell for $20.

I was getting ready to pull a BOSE moment on your skullcandy. But then I saw they weren't $100 earphones, and therefore you didn't make a big mistake. haha.

Great earbuds. Have them, and everytime they break down, bring it to the TSCC for a limited lifetime warranty.

Thank you Op!
These cheapo earbuds are great for traveling and be sabotaged. Heart won't be hurt if I lose or broke it.

Yeah, I gotta concurr. I have both the Skull Candy and the Creative buds (and the JVC Marshmallows, too). I think the Ink'd are the best deal of the bunch: best price, best fit, best sound.
The Marshmallows are a close second, but the foam inserts don't last very long, particularly if you wear them outside in the winter.

Hum, I'll have to give these a shot. I've tried the regular ipod headphones (I don't care about the sound when I'm jogging) but it always falls out of my left ear! Very annoying when you're jogging and it keeps falling out. I've resorted to some over the ear foldable ones but they tend to make my head get super warm and sweaty which isn't much fun!
Do the skullcandy ones actually stay in with all the bouncing/movement?

The Creative headphones stay in your ear if you select the right fit out of the 3 included inserts. (and clean the wax out of your ears!)

May be not for you...
I just picked up a pair from The Source.
While it is difficult to make a judgment about the quality without trying for yourself, here is some help. Answer these questions
- Do you think it is important to distinguish between left and right phone?
- Do you like detailed bass as opposed to tons of low-frequency mumbling?
- Do you enjoy clear highs?
If you answered yes to any of the questions, these phones may be not right for you. As you guessed, there are no Left/Right labels on them. Specs say the range is 20-20KHz, but it is a stretch, after 10KHz the volume goes down sharply. Bass is present; it is a little booming but not much.
A few weeks ago there was a thread about Shure headphones for about $30. Do yourself a favor and jump on to that deal, you will be much happier.
