I wouldn't call it a waste of money, but poor management of where the limited resources are supposed to go. The system is already so cash-strapped, so if these aren't really "renovations", but cosmetic improvements, then I think I can disagree with their decision.

TTC Station Modernization Program - waste of money.
Just today I noticed on the TTC website that they plan to "revitalize the Bloor-Danforth and the University line stations". They've allotted $20.8 million for this. In my opinion this is just money thrown out the window, because I find that stations do what they're intended to properly - if it ain't broken don't try to fix it. More useful things to do with the money:
- Decrease fares. Been to Montreal lately ? Seen their STM fares ? In case you haven't, a regular monthly pass is $65 and the student one is $35
- Make student tickets actually usable by all students
- At least make the tickets valid for 2 hours, like they do in the York region now
What do you guys think ?
