TV Eco fee at Shoppers Drug?

Trying to unload some points on a TV at Shoppers. It's a 32" led. Will I get dinged the $39 Eco/recycling fee?

Unfortunately this is standard with the many reputable electronic/big box type stores.

The eco fee is charged no matter where you shop. (in Ontario?) The only way out of it is to buy a refurb.
Factory Direct has plenty Refurb. TVs.

Sheep shop at shoppers. Most overpriced retailer in Canada who preys on lazy shoppers.

Try returning something there. Hahahahahahahahaha.

agree, but I have also gotten paid to buy toothpaste and wipes from them before too, so it all depends how you shop.

Sure, they're not charging the eco fee, but (at this time) many new TVs shown on Amazon.ca are more expensive to start with.

I'm looking for a 32" LED from shoppers too.. may I ask what brand/price the one you're looking at is? I don't see any in the flyer.

Actually people who don't know how to shop properly make ignorant comments like this. SDM has good deals, great personalized coupons and an excellent points program. I went last week bought 4 l milk, 2 dozen eggs, a bag of chips and two packages of deodorant and paid $.91 including taxes by using coupons.

Amazon has a price match policy on TVs.

I also used to think SDM was overpriced and never shopped there. But if you know your prices, they do sometimes have good deals. And 20x point days are worth it for things that never go on sale (like department store cosmetics). Spend $50 and get 10,000 points at SDM or spend $50 on the same item at The Bay/Holts and get, maybe, product sample? I'll shop at SDM.

It was an LG (sorry can't remember the model) and was clearing out for 299.99 which is quite abit more than I want to spend but my points are just collecting dust. Decided not to do it, if a mega redemption day comes along and it is still there, who knows. But adding the $39 on top of my out of pocket cash, I can get a cheap 29" at bestbuy that will do the trick for less.
