Quartz, a bit meh - for $500 I guess it's "okay", definitely not worth anything even close to full price. You can get some pretty awesome watches for $1,000 - $1,500.

He's not saying that at all.

He's saying that it's a quartz watch for $500. It's overpriced garbage. If you're willing to spend $500 on a watch, may as well spent like $1500 and get a manual-wind Omega Speedmaster off of ebay.

I spent $18 on my watch and it tells time just like a $1500 watch.

Stay away from their quartz. U-Boat had a lot of quality issues with their early quartz models. Although this is a 2011 model their newer mechanical watches are VASTLY superior.
