Can someone debunk this for me. Every time I order chinese food or eat at a buffet that serves it, it gives me the runs to the toilets.
I'm not sensitive to any foods (maybe ketchup but that's it) but it's like almost all them here (chinese restaurants) in Ontario just make me, my family, and friends, sick. Can it be the added "ingredients" like MSG or flavorings. Poorly cooked or handled food? It's been in my mind alot lately.
And why isn't it the same case with other Asian cuisine like Japanese (that one I thought would be the opposite), Korean, Laos and others, but when it comes to Chinese food it makes me very sick. And does anybody also have the same reaction?

many foods have msg such as chips, canned goods and etc.. and msg won't give you the runs.
maybe you just cant take the spices used in it? and it can't be because of poorly cooked or handled food everytime and chinese people open japanese, korean and fast food places too.
i guess chinese food just isnt for u. which is too bad.

Do you happen to know what chinese dishes/food is giving you the runs in particular?
I realize for a buffet, it might be hard to pinpoint but when you order take-out, do you order the same dishes in general?
Maybe the food is too oily and your stomach can't handle the oil?_______________

Are you the guy who had diarrhea with some sushi from Toshi ? Maybe you should stick with Burger King which is proven to work with your stomach.

Try and order the same dish from different resturants, maybe it's your favourite dish. Otherwise

go to the doctors and get yourself checked out. its obviously a problem with u and maybe your family (genetic), everyone is completely fine. we may not be able to get all the nutrition we need from chinese food, but it will not make u sick. oh the other side, fast food like mcd and bk are foods that actually doesn't seem like i get energy from eating and feel weaker.

Chinese either cook with lard (from pigs) or peanut oil. Perhaps you're used to halaal or kosher food or allergic to peanuts?
I find it hard to believe that your friends also get sick - so it's not genetic after all. Maybe it's just a case of eating too much because of the buffet and the fact that Chinese take out is usually bigger than, e.g. Bento box, South Asian roti/thali, or sushi.
MSG just makes you very thirsty.

When you go to the Chinese restaurant or take out, eat lots of vegetables, rather than the ribs or the fatty foods. Vegetables have fibre in them, so that might help you out.
