Ultra Street Fighter II - Nintendo Switch

OMG Nintendo, just take my money... this trailer just blew my mind... It reminds me of all the time I've spend in the arcades, and playing the SNES...

The game is overpriced right now. I read it was $40.

It is a port of Super Street Fighter II HD Remix which is on PS3 and XBox 360 with some extras.

Beating a good player in HD Remix (PS3) with perfect timing.

There is one Switch arcade stick in production being made by Hori.

This game looks awesome, but the launch price is too much for me.

Artwork certainly looks the same. My guess is Capcom is testing the waters to see if SFV is worth porting.

Yikes. I assumed it would be a $15-20ish downloadable title.

I played Ultra Street Fighter II at the closed Nintendo Switch event today:

- Ultra Street Fighter II is tweaked and re-balanced in a way that throws can be teched now (blocked).
Therefore, tick throwing does not always work like it did in all other versions of Street Fighter II.

Most people I played against are absolutely horrible players that do not know how to do any special moves at all, including the Nintendo representatives that are supposed to demonstrate how to play it.

Chun Li received major nerfs compared to SSFII HD Remix.
You can no longer control the spinning bird kick's aerial arch and direction.
For Chun Li, you also cannot charge and store her Super move while walking forward anymore.

The only person I lost against was someone using Violent Ken.

The only control option at the Nintendo Switch event was Pro Controllers. I don't think it would control well using the joycons.

The Japanese promotional Ultra Street Fighter II box art reveals:

- a new first person mode
- a 250 image art gallery

First, it’s now officially confirmed that Ultra Street Fighter II will have a new first-person mode. This was originally teased in the game’s debut trailer last month. It’s a unique game mode called “Unleash! Ha”DO”ken”, and is specialized for use with the Joy-Con controllers in a first-person view.

The box also shows that Ultra Street Fighter II will have some sort of art gallery. Players can view over 250 pages of artwork.
As one final note, the box contains a logo for the MT Framework engine. It does appear that Capcom’s mainstream engine is capable of producing Switch software.

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers is getting a physical release at $40 USD on May 26th.

Hyped for this. Hopefully the online multiplayer netcode will be good.
The only online Nintendo Switch game I've played so far is Super Bomberman R.
Super Bomberman R has terrible connections and with frequent lag in matches.

This is going to totally blow with joycons ... you're going to need a pro controller minimum.
