Unable to connect to unsecured network
I've been having this problem for a while now, but decided to wait until I had 10.6 (10.6.1 now) installed before I posted about it.
My friend's home has wireless internet that is unsecured and when I go over I'm unable to get on the internet with my MBP. I can "connect" to his network/modem, however google (for example) won't load.
I've rested his modem and router multiple times to no avail.
I have been able to connect in the past with my Windows based laptop, but I remember it was hit or miss at the time (one day it would work, next day it wouldn't at all). His laptop has zero problem connecting btw (Windows Vista).
I'm clueless, your thoughts?

The laptop might not be getting an IP address from the DHCP server, or the DNS settings on the laptop might be wrong.
