The University of Alberta Thread
Seems like Alberta is under represented in this forum. That will probably change soon due to the economy though
The U of A is really underated and IMO it competes with the top 3 universities in Canada. I'm probably going there next fall. Hopefully there are U of A students on this forum that can share thier experiances in this thread. I have heard nothing but great things from students.

I'm a U of A student
I think it's a great school. Most of the users of this forum are from Ontario, so there aren't a lot of posts about many schools in Western Canada (I guess UBC gets a lot though!). I would definitely recommend U of A to you, especially if your other option is U of C. I went to U of C for a while and I regret going there. U of A is much much better!

Agreed, it does seem to fly under the radar and there is definitely a lack of Albertan students on these forums so you barely see any threads regarding UofA. It is definitely a great school though. There are so many programs there that are of such good quality and overall the school is just excellent, so I would definitely recommend it as well.

The BadDrafter lives in international house! Yes, I live in U of A.
Back to Schaffer Hall in September. Then I have to find a place after that when I get married next July.
We should do a live meet like they do in the Ontario version of Red Flag Deals.

LOL I saw a t-shirt passing through Sub that said 'Friends don't let friend go to U of C'.

I'm from Ontario, but I hope to get into U of A pharmacy. The earliest acceptances don't go out until early July, which is kind of frustrating... I checked out the listings on the off-campus housing site, and the last one posted was about a month ago.

Haha I think if we did a meet, nobody would show up! Maybe in a few years, there'll be more U of A-ers joining RFD... maybe.
Oh, and U of C sells the "Friends don't let friends go to U of A" shirt
and I heard one of the schools in Ontario sells it too (maybe U of T?). Not sure why people hate U of A so much haha.

Maybe you should try the Facebook marketplace. I see posts on there every now and then... but not sure how often they're added. Good luck with admissions into pharmacy!

I too am from Ontario and I'll be starting the LLB program at the U of A this September. I'll be moving out to Edmonton in August and I'm eager to meet some new people.
Anyone got any time in August to meet up and talk about RFD?

UoA is fun times! I would rec it too! Well, Science was.. !
There aren't lots of ABers around here.. either that or they don't need as many deals
Sadly I have to move to UoT for gradschool, otherwise I would stay in AB forever! I don't want to pay PST!!

I am! Taking mechanical engineering. But yeah, there is a definite shortage of AB students on this forum.
