Hah.
You're going to go crazy trying to remember 100 different names that all look and sound the same and what exactly it is that they did.
PS. I've got the Hist028 book from last year for sale if that's what you guys are using this year.

You really only NEED one book from that list for HIST028, which is "East Asia - A cultural blah blah blah". Befriend someone and borrow their "Story of Ah Q" and "Patriotism", or I think you can borrow them from the library.
Edit: Or if you're anti-social, you can find both Ah Q and Patriotism on the intranets. Google.

haha wow, econ specialization?
I'm taking 116/124/150/151/152/153, but I've no idea where to start asking.
Any general advice/descriptions? Difficult or easy? group projects/presentation? How are the exams like?
Thanks!

116 - economic history of Canada - it's a joke if you have it with Brown (pretty sure he is the only one that teaches it). It might be boring at times because he just talks throughout the class as he goes through different periods so I suggest having a laptop to type the notes. 2 midterms and a final (essay type). First mid term question he actually gives it to you and you have to prepare it. Second, gives you 4 possibilities, and 2 are on the exam and for final, gives you 8, and 4 are on. Thats at least how it was last year when I took him. It's a real easy course and I suggest picking up his 117 as well which is the continuation of 116.
150/151 - Micro Theory I & II - I only took 150 @ Kings with Kapil - he was a young cool prof - always gave us "practice questions", from which a descent number ended up being on the exam. For this course refresh your math skills as you'll be needing them quite a bit. It can be hard at times.
152/153 - Macro Theory I & II - Again, I only took 152 with Middleton - he is a cool prof, jokes around a lot but knows to be a b!tch on his exams. The course it self is mostly theory compared to Micro. No major calculations here.
Over all, most people say that micro is harder, but then there is a good number that say otherwise as well.
154 - Money is another good course with J.D. Han .....
Over all, for the courses you are taking, there are no group presentations/projects so you don't need to worry about that.

Just a warning for those thinking of using out of province IDs for bars, I have a (real) Alberta ID, and was required to show 2 pieces of ID confirming my age on more than one occassion to get into a non-campus bar on Richmond row. YMMV, but just something to watch for.

Ah, thanks a lot for the heads up. Not sure if 116 is going to be as much a joke as it was too you though (not too fond of writting multiple essays on an exam.)

Trust me! You just gotta know the basics and you can BS the rest. He is a pretty easy marker, and sometimes I don't think he even reads what you write. lol

Newbie
I went to western.... lived in Elgin first year (which was the best year of my life!!). Western is the best while you're in school... after that, london becomes quite boring...
after a 3 year psych degree I ended up staying in london for another 3 years because i got a job at TD Bank (call centre on york). Finally i am out of there and things have never been better!
If anyone has questions about western or wants any advice on anything, just drop me a line!
Dan

DC++ apparently doesn't have a working UWO hub yet. Can't wait to test this out.
