Is it worth it to unlock a $250 phone? what kind of return percentage (based on $15 unlock fee) can I expect if I sell unlocked phone vs locked phone?

Unlock codes aren't expensive.. I'd say It's worth unlocking the phone because unlock phones are much much easier to sell than locked phones.

Regardless of the value of the phone I'd unlock any phone as long as It's eligible.. Obviously If the price Is to high to unlock then screw It but that's not the case as unlock codes aren't expensive at all.

Yeah unlocking phones Is basically a no brainer unless the codes are very expensive.. Makes selling the phone much easier.. Also attracts everyone instead of just a specific wireless company like Rogers or Telus etc..

+1, especially if its a blackberry which you can unlock for free or a $1 on certain websites.

regardless of the cost.
i never keep a phone longer then a 9 months.
the cost of unlocking is nothing when you consider the scope of potential buyers later when trying to resell the phone vs it being locked.

lol that's the reason why i sell in 9 months. i sell while the phone still has value. that way i am not paying top dollar for a new phone every time.
