Looks like all the carrier pre-orders will come with the free Google home mini. Ended up reserving with Rogers for 40$ deposit. Hopefully Rogers can get it earlier than the others.

What position are you in on the Rogers Open Queue?MoneyHypeMike wrote: ↑ Lol. I pre-order my Note 8 on August 24th and still no phone!

I was under 50, they messed up my order because of a bad agent. I am probably a special case but I will never pre-order from Rogers again. No updates on my order and they were supposed to call me over one week ago.

Just escalate to management office or OOP.MoneyHypeMike wrote: ↑ I was under 50, they messed up my order because of a bad agent. I am probably a special case but I will never pre-order from Rogers again. No updates on my order and they were supposed to call me over one week ago.
They'll likely ship the phone next day express.

Is there a direct phone number to them?
edit: I called Rogers, seems like my order got through... Should get the phone within one week (actually, it was 2 weeks, but because it was a pre-order they will rush it)
I escalated to a supervisor to get an answer to what had happened with my order, but she tried to dodge saying "I'm sorry for all your troubles but there is nothing we can do it's the system...".
She offered a month free for all my troubles after I asked for something. I asked her to escalate to the office of president, hopefully, they can shed some light on what happened so it doesn't happen again.

Anyone reserving a phone with rogers before but not on their plan? I have a rogers account with no cell phone plans but the reservation got through, was wondering if they will deny me from picking it up without a valid Rogers plan?

Sometimes you just got to accept that there is no answer. It just slips and as much as you want an answer, sometimes they do want to give you honest answer but they just don't have it. They admitted fault and gave you a month free. Get over it.MoneyHypeMike wrote: ↑ Is there a direct phone number to them?

The panda version came back in stock in the US Google Store, so I jumped on the 64 gb version hoping to take advantage of the pixel XL trade in offer. Figured $400 USD is a decent price and no hassle of dealing w/ craigslist buyers, etc.
Had it shipped to a mail receiving place in the States.
Anyone else do the same? Any pitfalls to be aware of buying from the US Google store when I'm in Canada?

I wish the price was lower outright and that stores had dummy versions already so I can test it out and finally decide which phone I’m switching to

Any ideas if the XL will be discounted by Telus during Black Friday? Or Boxing Day later on?
I was reading this Mobile Syrup article on Black Friday 2016 deals on cell phones and it seems only Bell discounted the original Pixel XL in 2016... https://mobilesyrup.com/2016/11/22/cana ... day-deals/

So if you order right now from Telus it quoted me 6-8 weeks for the panda XL, that's well after Black Friday and you can cancel/return. If it gets a discount during Boxing Day I'm gonna kick myselfusmanraf wrote: ↑ Any ideas if the XL will be discounted by Telus during Black Friday? Or Boxing Day later on?

Those who are getting the phone, are you guys planning to keep and use the google home mini? Or sell it. Personally I don't have a use for it. Want to hear from others to see what the general consensus is.

I had Google Home and it was awesome!
I sold it to get the next JBL portable speaker with google assistant (jbl link 20).
I'll keep the Mini, because I need at least 2 speakers in my small appartment.
