if they produce something of the solid calibre of the G6, Pixel 2 should be solid.

Hopefully Google will make LG more serious about firmware and software, the bootloops in the G3 G4 G5 was too common and ruin the reputation of a very good phone with a very good camera.

I don't recall seeing much in the way of widespread bootloops in the G5.

Yeah, its not too widespread but I'm 2/2 haha, one G3 and one G4. There are plenty of threads on XDA and reddit on it.

Nothing but good experience with N4, N5 and V20.
I'd be happy with an LG built pixel, assuming it was the right phone for me based on specs/price.
Though my V20s not even a year old, so I wouldn't be looking until maybe Pixel 3 or 4 ;)

Not overly excited, if true. The last LG phone I had was a Nexus 5 and I haven't been interested in any of their phones since. Personal preference but I also just think their designs are one of the ugliest in the industry.

Unless the phone is leaps better the other flagships, I'll avoid LG. Had a Nexus 4 and wasnt impress with the build quality. Hearing about the bootloop fiasco and G6's fragile camera glass just shows LG's standard for quality. Even if those issues were bad luck, Im not dealing with their terrible 3rd party repair centre if I run into any warranty issues

Pixels are handled by Google, regardless of the manufacturer.

Who are Google's authorized repair shops in Canada?

Home service reseller internet + FPL + antenna with streaming on smart TV
Wireless 1 line w/ Virgin on QC plan, few lines w/ Koodo to get phones, couple FreedomPop SIM's for roaming

They don't..Google is like apple but better...next day delivery of replacement phone 24/7 online, phone or email..no need to send to repair Depot and wait.

Great news...but it was expected as Google wants the best screen and invested big time in LG oled tech

HTC is too crippled to manufacture it .. they simply don't have the ability and capacity to manufacture modern phones

HTC built a mad pixel for Google. Google should just front some money to HTC so they can built the pixel 2. I guess main reason to use LG is to access their curve displays they need so badly to compete with samsung and Apple.

Google should really do bezel less with flat screens. Edge screens are so over rated.

They need OLED screen... HTC doesn't have any ability to get OLED let alone manufacture it. Basically it's Samsung and LG that can do it...and Samsung is already making it for new iPhone and their own phones...so leaves LG only
