Rumour from earlier this month: Apple's 10th anniversary iPhone could cost over $1,000 - rumours that there's going to be a "7S" model that's just an iterative update on the 7, and a super fancy anniversary 8 model (or possibly called iPhone 10/X) that removes physical buttons entirely, has an edgeless OLED display.

99% of the time, somebody else did it before both of them. So fanbois on both sides need to STFU.

Apple will ditch Lightning for USB-C on new iPhones

http://www.theverge.com/2017/2/28/14760 ... -lightning
I'd wager it'll be the latter explanation (that they're replacing USB-A with USB-C on the power-adapter side of their power cables), as opposed to putting USB-C on the iPhone itself.

Lol. USB-C to Lightning? I wouldn't put it past Apple

As the article points out - it'd make sense, since Macbooks switched over to USB-C.

It wouldn't surprise me. I try not to use the word fanboy but this whole Pro line up is made for them.

The worst is iPad Pro.

Yup, I'm waiting for this as well. Been with Android for awhile now and would like to switch back to iOS so this is in my shopping list.

Apple will not discard the Lightning connector for the USB Type-C connector on the next iPhone, according to one prominent Apple analyst on Thursday.

Makes sense. There's no benefit for Type C on an iPhone. Lightning isn't even fully utilized because Apple is still including 5W adapters.

MacBook users are outputting 4K/5K which is why USB C is in place.

This is almost confirmed news that Apple has decided on letting go of their exclusive ‘lightning’ charger and will sport a USB-C port instead. The incorporation of a new charger means that the phone could now be smaller, and make space for other types of hardware and embedded systems.
This will be troublesome especially for existing iPhone customers who simply upgrade to a new iPhone whenever it is launched.

Not sure if i should wait for the iphone 8 or not. I am using the iphone 6 plus and the screen is already broken. I want a new iphone so bad, and thinking should i get the iphone 7 plus (however, it looks so similar with my iphone 6). I kinda wanted a new phone now, but its already march. Feel like i am wasting money if i get the iphone 7 plus now and get a new iphone again in september/october.

It all comes down to what you can live with. Can you survive with your iPhone 6+ having a broken screen for the next 6 months? If so, wait it out. The 7+ is going to drop in price, and there will also be the 7S+ (and/or 8 or X or pro or whatever they call it) to tempt you. But if you can't wait, you can't think about what the price will be in 6 months. Because that way lies madness.

I have an iPhone 7 Plus, it is nothing special. If your current phone is still working, then stick with it. If it bothers you that much, buy the iPhone 7 Plus

This is my first iPhone and personally, I am ready to toss it. I really tried to like it, but after 4 months, I realise it is not for me.
