Change preferred network to lte/gsm.

$100 on 2 year contract is still crap for a $377 phone. That's $277 subsidized over 2 years (~$138/year) versus getting something like the GS3 on a $0 sale and about $600 subsidized over 3 years (~$200/year)

It doesn't make sense for Google to update older devices before they update the flagship or upcoming devices. The Nexus One had to wait several months for Gingerbread because the Nexus S had exclusivity on Gingerbread for the first few months.

Way to jump to conclusions lol. No official updates have been released for any Nexus phone (besides the 4.2 and 4.2.1 updates that were released for the GNex little lag time) since the N4 launch.

No the Razr sucks. I actually got the Razr free with $200 gift card during the christmas break. I sold it and I did compare it with my Nexus 4. It sucks
- smaller screen
- slower processor aka dual core
- and slow updates.......
it might change with Google now owning the Motorola but i would not hold my breath right now.

If you're considering going for the $100 + 2 year deal, you need to look at the total cost of the phone and plan. The phone is subsidized $11.54/month over the 2 years. The offer is only available on select plans, the cheapest of which seems to be $40 for 150 minutes, unlimited text and 200 GB data. Basically, you're paying $28.56/month for this data-starved plan. Expect to pay $20/month more to move up to 1GB data.

One solid reason to simply buy the phone outright from Google (which helps you avoid the $50 Fido tax) is that its off-season in the phone market - there are no particularly good contract deals on offer from the majors, so you might as well stay unhandcuffed and prepare to shop around when the market gets a bit more competitive during the back-to-school and pre-xmas rush. Make the telcos work for your money, don't commit to a low value plan simply because you're anxious to own a shiny new phone.
