Does N4 needs a new sim-card or is it okay with my iPhone4's (still on contract right now..but very soon will be off!) ? :D
It will work with your existing micro sim cards.

If you need to get LTE speed for data Rogers you will need new LTE sim. Also you need some settings changed. May same for 4g speeds.

If you're using Fido dollars, I don't think it's that bad. I mean the average person doesn't hop from company to company and they're most likely going to have a phone in 2 years anyway.

not a deal

$359 + $18 shipping from Play Store = $377 + local taxes

So Fido is selling for about $50 MORE than the Play Store (yes you pay taxes in a Fido store - in case you were thinking it was a magical land of pixies and fairies)

No thanks.

$100 on 2 year contract is still crap for a $377 phone. That's $277 subsidized over 2 years (~$138/year) versus getting something like the GS3 on a $0 sale and about $600 subsidized over 3 years (~$200/year)

You're welcome for actually doing the math.

OMG this thread is just FULL of fail

"NEXUS"-branded Google phones cannot have carrier bloatware... or some special Fido android build
it will have the same software as the Nexus4 ordered straight from Google.
That's part of the "deal".

My Nexus S was acquired through the most evil of evil corporations - ROGERS - via a contract (ugh, I know) and there has NEVER been a Rogers app on my phone... and there never will be...
*****... For example, the Verizon Galaxy Nexus has custom Verizon Apps installed

2yr contract $100 Outright/Prepaid $425.

- This is the 16GB Model.

*So from reading through the forum it looks like Feb 13th is the day they will start selling this phone. Call early before it sells out. Majority of the existing customers will call retentions for a better plan and upgrade on the 2yrs or use FidoDollars for an outright purchase.

**Subsidized price with any data plan, even $10/100mb add on.

You could get it with their new $40 plan.

Isn't the Motorola Razr better deal? same 2 yrs contract.$50 only.

And how fast are you seeing updates now that the Nexus 4 is out?

It doesn't make sense for Google to update older devices before they update the flagship or upcoming devices. The Nexus One had to wait several months for Gingerbread because the Nexus S had exclusivity on Gingerbread for the first few months.
Way to jump to conclusions lol. No official updates have been released for any Nexus phone (besides the 4.2 and 4.2.1 updates that were released for the GNex little lag time) since the N4 launch.

No the Razr sucks. I actually got the Razr free with $200 gift card during the christmas break. I sold it and I did compare it with my Nexus 4. It sucks
- smaller screen
- slower processor aka dual core
- and slow updates.......
it might change with Google now owning the Motorola but i would not hold my breath right now.

If you're considering going for the $100 + 2 year deal, you need to look at the total cost of the phone and plan. The phone is subsidized $11.54/month over the 2 years. The offer is only available on select plans, the cheapest of which seems to be $40 for 150 minutes, unlimited text and 200 GB data. Basically, you're paying $28.56/month for this data-starved plan. Expect to pay $20/month more to move up to 1GB data.

One solid reason to simply buy the phone outright from Google (which helps you avoid the $50 Fido tax) is that its off-season in the phone market - there are no particularly good contract deals on offer from the majors, so you might as well stay unhandcuffed and prepare to shop around when the market gets a bit more competitive during the back-to-school and pre-xmas rush. Make the telcos work for your money, don't commit to a low value plan simply because you're anxious to own a shiny new phone.
