Why?

All dealerships are independently owned. Therefore they will have different rates for every service.
Just like any other shop they also have special offers.
I dont see how this comparison can work

At least it gets a discussion going. Could be useful to some people.

I am trying to get this info to help decide which brand of vehicle to look at. Maintenance costs are part of the equation. Many people overlook them.

RFD is a site for discussing deals, pricing and values is it not? So this thread is perfectly legitimate.

If everyone followed your DIY-thinking (not that there is anything wrong with that) then there would not be this community!!!

When I read McLaren_F1's post, I assumed he was telling you to get on your phone and DIY...then report back to us what everyone charges!

Costco castrol edge, $59.99 - and that's not brand dependent. I am sure there are some cars they don't do, but for the most part that's what you'll pay. No need to go to the dealer for an oil change.

From model year 2006 on, BMW vehicles purchased from an authorized BMW Retailer in Canada are covered by No-charge Scheduled Maintenance for 4 years or 80,000 kilometres, whichever occurs first.

Any authorized BMW Retailer in Canada will perform the scheduled maintenance services on your vehicle at no expense.

Costs will vary by model/engine not by make

Our old diesel jeep cost nearly 200, but it took 10 quarts of oil and the change interval was nearly double that of a regular car

The end came for me (for light roast coffee) when the tasting notes at a light roast shop in Portland said: "Hints of citrus, star anise & coffee" - Unknown on the internet
