Upgrading my Dimension 2400
So I bought a Dimension 2400 back in Dec 2003 and being the cheap ass that I am, I want to upgrade the CPU and extend it's life, rather than look at buying a brand new PC at the moment.
I'm currently running a Celeron 2.4GHZ, 1.0 GB Ram, 330w power supply and have an Intel 845 Mobo...I had my bro in the US buy me a this P4 2.8B northwood 533/512 CPU from newegg.com.
Now from all the reviews on the site i'm about 95% sure it will work on my system, but would like to confirm with the gurus on RFD for sure. Also should I replace the HS and Fan from what is currently in my system or leave it as is? Any recommendations on what I should get? I'm not looking to over-clock since I don't think it would make much of a difference.
Thanks for any replies!_______________
