An XP120 + Coolermaster 120mm outperforms the Freezer by a few degrees when the fan speeds are adjusted so that they're roughly the same noise level (I've owned both). Can't speak for the Alpine.

will my mobo BOOT if i connect CPU HSF FAN to Rheobus???
I have decided on the AC Freezer 64 pro and am wanting to lower noise even more.
will my mobo beep or be unable to boot if i connect the CPU Fan to a Rheobus where i can manually control fan speed?
im running a MSI Neo NF4 mobo

Go into your BIOS and tell it to not monitor the CPU FAN header. Then you shouldn't have any problem.

I personally do NOT recommend manually control CPU fan speed. It has direct impact of system stability.

Connecting the cpu fan to the fan controller or a rheobus will work. Just disable hardware monitor in the BIOS to detect the CPU fan. If will not cause any stability issues as long as your temps are fine.

i wanna do this because i tried speedfan but couldnt find where to manually control fan speed. i set it to automatic fan speed but the noise doesnt change. thats why im using a rheobus b/c speedfan seems useless as i dont really know how to use it.

One of my rigs uses a Zalman 5.25" fan controller, the CPU fan is controlled that way and there is a plug to the CPUFAN socket to monitor speed. So it doesn't get 'fooled' that way.
Like others have said, disable the overheat protection / temp monitoring or whatever it is called in the BIOS if it doesn't boot or got shut down if the CPUFAN is too slow.

you can also get a zalman fanmate 2 which allows you to control it externally. though you have to find a way to route it to the outside.
