This is kind of a desktop/laptop! It will serve most of home/business user needs for quite some time! Not much cost to upgrade the mem and hard disk later if needed.
Do you guys think it is a hot deal..It was $100 more last week.

I need one laptop and this is pretty appealing... Any feedback on this model? I read the reviews and it says that 18" screen is not worth. Is the price expected to go down as black friday comes closer???

When you figure that the previous model (HDX 18) is selling here for $1800 with older gen stuff, it's a pretty damned good deal. Personally, I'd like to drop 2-4GB more RAM in it if possible, but as it can take two HD's, I could manage adding another on my own. The rest of the system is better than the HDX as well as you get the fingerprint reader and stuff.
The best part about the US deal? No stupid bilingual keyboard that isn't needed!
That's hot on it's own

I'd buy this in a heartbeat for the discounted price, if I could. Excellent deal. Wish there was some way for HP U.S. to send this to Canadian customers. HP Canada has nothing near this deal.

I'm actually heading down to orlando in about a week and a half. Staying at friends house. If I ship it to his address, on the way back to Canada will I need to pay tax on this?

You could probably just put the laptop in your bag and not declare it when you bring it over.

Do some research on the i7 and you'll answer your own question.
