Is the US$ personal chequing account still free at TD? Other alternatives to RBC?
Effective May 1st for the RBC U.S. Personal Chequing Account,
A new $2.00 USD monthly fee (with 6 debits included) will be charged. With my current RBC Day to Day Banking package, I have been allowed 15 debit transactions across my CAD and USD chequing accounts and never had to pay any USD monthly fees.

Is the USD personal chequing account at TD still free of charge? My wife and I currently bank with RBC (mostly) and TD. It's not the $2 USD cost I'm worried about, it's just I rarely fund my US$ account and this additional cost in US$ is irritating. I wouldn't be complaining had it been CAD$2 from my Canadian chequing as that account is always funded.

I Know that TD has just announced upcoming service change increases pretty well across the board but whether they apply to the TDBoarderless account, I can't say.

If you already have an account at BMO under a banking plan that waives fees for maintaining a minimum balance, you can add a US$ account to your plan that will also have its fees waived if you keep your primary account above the minimum balance.

There's been a previous post on this subject but I have yet to see anything from RBC themselves. Where's the info about the new fee structure starting on May 1st?
Anyhow, I'm interested in possibly switching to TD as well. There are already other reasons I've been considering moving my accounts there.

It will be on the monthly account statements. It explains changes to monthly fees for several banking packages.

TD's US Daily Interest Checking Account charges $1 per debit, no monthly fee, completely free if you maintain $1000 in it at all times.
