Used car price opinion

Can anyone give me a fair idea what to expect to get on a private sale? The mileage is too high that the black book won’t report a value.

Anyway it’s a 2013 Kia Rio four door manul LX so it has AC, heated seats. It has 190k on it and was rear ended three years ago and repaired professionally. It needed a bumper cover. Tires are new, and there are winters and rims.

Im not expecting to get much but don’t want to give it away either. What would be a reasonable amount to expect? Worst case? I’ve looked on autotrader and obviously there aren’t many with mileage that high.

Thanks for the help. I’ve never sold a car before and where I looked to get an idea wasn’t much help. Please don’t take this as an ‘ad’. It isn’t.

Serach for similar cars (i.e. 2013 Kia Rio) on Kijiji and Autotrader to get an idea of what everyone else is asking. Then set your price based on your car's mileage, condition, features, etc. relative to the rest of them.

Something between $4700 and $5600 depending on the physical condition and work required.

Yes, about 1000- 2000.
You are talking about a KIA with 190k KM.
It is near the end of its life, and the car had accident.

Can the car drive as it is or need a new bumper?
If bumper is needed to put on to able to pass safety. I would say it is the price of a scrap metal, like 250 to 500$

No one will spend another $1k on a new bumper on this car to keep driving it.

OK, so as a functional car. I would say the car can sell for about $1500-2500 range,

Is kijiji the best place to put it that’s free? Or autotrader for a fee?

Thanks for the help everyone.

Autotrader is nothing but waste of time or have a 3rd party try to sell you something else.
I sold 3 cars on kijiji and all within a month. Quickest was 3 days, my car didn't last over the next wk-end, it got picked up right away.

I'm assuming its in good condition. If its good I'd offer it at $4500, and set the lowest point at $3500. Although the mileage is high, its 5 years old and the extras you're offering prop up the price too plus its not a base model either just make it clear its a LX+ otherwise anyone will research just a LX and assume its base with no A/C. Only negatives for resale purposes is easily the mileage and the manual transmission. If its not in good condition then you'll have to lower what I stated, the less presentable the car more likely it will get little. Where you're located may factor too, a Rio will sell decently in the city, but its not likely to do well in rural areas and you may have to change price accordingly. Of course if you're pressed for time, then lowering the price is prudent too.

People are being goofy on here. There is no way a car that new that has a safety is worth less than $2500. I recently sold two 2009 Ford Focus's each with 200+ kms for $2500 each. Once you talk used you need to forget about options or not.....no auto means fewer buyers though, take nothing less than $2500
