That's actually gotten people in trouble before, although I understand what you're saying. There's been more then one good trader to go bad. People with large posts counts, and had been here for awile.
The most important thing in any trade is information. If you know the persons contact info then they're not going to screw you. In nearly every case where someone gets ripped off it's because all they had was a hotmail address.
Scammers aren't going to give out their info because they know the guy will come kicking the door in. They prey on those they can hide from.

I guess that is where Heatware comes in. It shouldn't be hard to track someone that hangs around the forum for awhile. They must have dealt with one person or another and should be easy to track down.
So far, I have been fortunate. I have found lots of great deals, met lots of people and the experience has renewed my faith in people. It also helps that I only deal in person.

im not associating "user status" with whether a person is trust-worthy or not... I just am sick of seeing ppl who post USELESS threads and/or replies get that esteemed status ... hehe...
