Using WAP with Wireless Router... HELP!

I always considered myself pretty knowledgeable with this stuff, but I sure am lost with this right now...

Here's the situation. We just moved into a big new house, that has ethernet cables in the walls in most spots, but not all. I am using my Linksys Wireless Router in the basement as the "gateway", but I also had what I thought was the good idea of plugging in a wireless access point (WAP) into one of the ethernet ports upstairs, and this would give me better wireless reception for things on the main floor that aren't near ethernet ports, such as my PS3 and the variety of wireless laptops the family uses.

So, I bought a Linksys WAP for upstairs, and it is plugged into a cable leading to the router (and switch). I can "see" the WAP on the network, and log into it and all that, and I can even have wireless devices (i.e. MacBook) connect to it. However, once connected to the WAP, I cannot access the Internet through it.

Someone, please help!

I'm not sure about this but i currently do run a wireless bridge

what you're doing seem like a access point =/ what router you got there?

and one thing you have to remember is that you have to let the main router handle the DHCP so turn off the DHCP on the wireless router you have there =/
and turn off the firewall on the wireless router

i assume that your internet worked with just pulling into the Ethernet outline.
