I haven't tried them... but the distributor I know that is pushing them here in B.C. is VERY well known for selling the lowest quality crap he can get his hands on (he sells to A&B Sound, all their generic Promedia crap too). I bought a 25-pack of the 4x dvd-r from the new Canada Computers near Yonge/Finch for $7.99 at their grand opening. According to Smartburn, the media id was Gigastorage.
Worked fine at 4x on my LiteOn 812s.
Hope this helps.
