Valentines at the hospital...
So February 13th, 2006 the plan was to prepare everything for a nice romantic home made dinner at home. I took a couple hours off work so that I could go out and pick up new candle holders, candles, bottle of wine, and all the works for a nice home cooked meal, etc... everything except the roses which I would've picked up the next day before picking my girlfriend up from work....but after some unfortunate events, we ended up spending the evening at the hospital...
As I was putting one of the candles into the glass holder, the holder literally exploded in my hands, sending a 3" shard of glass through my pinky finger, severing tendons and the digital nerve. After squirting blood all over the wall and floor and shouting expletives, I made a quick call to my girlfriend to meet me at the ER, hopped in my car and drove myself to the hospital. After a several hour wait I got to see the doctor that temporarily stitched up the wound and put me in a cast, but I would have to go back the next day (Valentines) to see a specialist to re-attach the tendon and nerve . We must've got home around 11pm... blood and glass all over the floor left for my lovely girlfriend to clean up since I was nothing short of useless...
Now it's Feb 14, I still wanted to finish what I started, so long story short, I was at home and prepared a one handed meal, set up the remaining candle holders, bought some flowers, had it all ready to go... picked up my girlfriend from work, went to the hospital to see the hand doctor , after another 2 hr or so surgery we were both starving, arrived at home, and dinner was served...
