I see!!
It sucks that nowdays most big manufacturers don't test or at the very least take a quick look at their final product before boxing it...
Doesn't seem like a high % of panels with issues so it's probably a risk they take in not QA'ing in great detail.
Still sucks when it happens.

So did mine. I can't track it right now as the sameday site returns my tracking number as invalid.
It seems Costco customer service team doesn't have any clue about inventory status or anything.

After visiting BB to compare 55" to 65" - Ideally I would of liked to get a 60" if they had it. 55 was a tad small and 65 was a tad big. I ended up going with the 65" TV.

This will be going up in my living room (condo). I redeemed a 600 dollar best buy gift card (20% off black friday sale) using my RBC points.

The sale price was 1899.99 before taxes at best buy. I also negotiated the SONY HTC 290 300 watt soundbar / woofer system for $200 flat.

Grand total: 1793.99 taxes included for the Sony TV 900e + Sony HTC 290 sound bar / woofer.

Count me in as a 65" shipped today and ordered 24th. Happy it didn't get cancelled.

Hey folks,

I will be getting the 65" in two weeks but is there some type of noob post or document about what we should do, in order, when getting the TV? I'd like to only do the basic stuff like calibrating using rtings.com settings. I've read a lot of posts but have not seen some basic TODO list for idiots like me Smiling Face With Sunglasses
When you just set the settings to certain pre-sets, you're not actually calibrating, you're just adjusting. To properly calibrate you need some pro gear than can read the screen.

It's still available from Best Buy through tomorrow for $1899
A bargain is something you don't need at a price you can't resist.

I just purchased this yesterday. Dec 05 2017. Same deal now as it was during black friday.

BTW:

is getting your TV professionally calibrated worth it? Or should I just go on RTINGS and manually calibrate settings within the TV.

From what I read, professional calibration = professional equipment hooked up to a computer / tv and overriding settings.

Manual calibration set up = going on RTINGS and making fine tuning adjustments allowable within your tv settings.

Thanks, now that I'm reading this it seems so obvious, but definitely not a clear distinction for someone like me. Would you suggest having this TV calibrated, does it make a good enough difference?
Happy Koodo customer :-)

Or you can go half-way and use any of the following. It won't be professional. It wil definitely improve your TV image.

DVE Essentials https://www.amazon.ca/Digital-Video-Ess ... essentials
Disney WOW https://www.amazon.ca/WOW-World-Wonder- ... disney+wow
Spears & Munsil https://www.amazon.ca/Spears-Munsil-Ben ... disney+wow

XBOX One S (probably other XBOX too) has basic calibration built-in.

There are videos on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=avs+hd+709

If you know how, you can use calibration graphs https://www.google.ca/search?safe=off&b ... gnauIV3DaM
