So are you telling me that going from 720p to 1440p in terms of scaling is "double" too? Because it's the exact same scenario. You can fit four 720p windows into one 1440p window just like you can fit four 1080p windows into one 2160p window. How is it not four times the resolution?
I think the discussion about resolutions vs number of pixels should be for another thread, but here's an explanation. It's all semantics anyway, but yes normally you wouldn't have your blurry problem going from 720p to 1440p. I'm really not an expert on the subject though, it's just some old good basics with monitor resolutions.
Happy Koodo customer :-)

I don't want to be a syntax police, but it's "allowed". Saw it twice, could not resist the second time ;-)
Correcting a spelling error or incorrect usage of words are not considered as syntax-related.

How about BF pricing on the XBR65X850E?

Much appreciated.....

Kev
I'll ask the same question. Can anyone estimate what the 65" 850E might go for on BF, with the 900E supposedly at $1900? I needed a TV quickly so I just got a 65" Sammy MU7600 at BB for $1399. If the 850E comes down to "around" the same level or even a bit more the 7600 is going back...

most likely $1499 - $400 less than the 900

Thanks for quick response. If that's the case, I will be exchanging the 7600 for an 850E (can't justify the extra $400 for the 900E, the boss would kill me).

Is that confirmed BF pricing for all retailers? Thanks.

im going based on the current pricing differences between 900 and 850 (which is ~$400)

Assuming the 900 is $1900 on BF, 850 should be around $1500

Wait. What are you saying? You have me nervous. Games at 1080p look bad on this tv?
They look blurrier than on a native 1080p display, so fine details are noticeably obscured (I believe they call this the Vaseline Effect). It's pretty similar to what I've experienced running games on PC monitors below native resolution in the past, maybe not quite as bad, but bad enough that I opted to take the performance hit and just run games in 4K.

This is strange and I hope we can get an explanation. 1080p is 1920x1080 resolution, and 4K is the exact double, 3840x2160... As far as I know, there is no resampling so the image should not be blurry. Are you sure you're not playing 720p stuff?
I mean, it's what I suspected but I bought the TV anyway based on feedback I read here and elsewhere on the internet. It's entirely possible I've done something wrong, but I definitely ran the games in 1080p full screen mode (borderless windowed doesn't work well with my desktop at 4K), with the TV correctly reporting a 1080p image. I also tried a desktop res of 1080p, but no dice.

Not sure if it matters, but my video output is 4:4:4 Limited. Also, I've only tested PC games and 4K PS4 games; I'll try Persona 5 when I get home and see how that looks.

Edit: I read stores are selling the LG B7 55" OLED for roughly the same price as the 65" X900E. Definitely a display worth considering.

close its going to be 1600. for 65x850e
Thanks. That's about the upper limit of what I'm prepared to spend, so it may happen at that price. Any chance BB might also throw in extras like gift cards or cheaper extended warranties on BF?
