I found out that it's the X850E model. From the Rtings review:

http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x850e

Overall it's a great TV though and it's not far off from the x900e you guys are buying now. It depends on how you feel about IPS panels. For the right person it could turn out to be a nice deal.

I will say, however, that I am one of those people with a really bright room and a wide viewing area in my living room. In theory I have the ideal setting for an IPS panel. However I have enjoyed my VA panel television a lot more than my IPS panel one.
It's a fine set I'm sure, but the lack of full array backlight is kind of a turn off if planning on using a lot of HDR content.

I have heard from @vonblock who has seen both HDR10 and Dolby Vision that there is little to no noticeable difference between HDR10 and Dolby Vision, if any.
HDR10 is more pop and bright if you ask me. YMMV because each TV use it's own tone mapping.

Dolby Vision is more correct. Every scene look professionally graded.

I would say DV look the best but a good HDR 10, like Planet Earth 2, still look much better than the current best DV show or movie I saw.

In my opinion, it's not such a big deal. At least on OLED.

I had an IPS Sony X850D and I hated that TV everyday for the 5 months I had it.

Like Sickbeast said, unless you have a bright room and want great viewing angle, stay away from IPS screen especially without some form of local dimming.

For those out west, I just haggled a deal with visions calgary NE for the 65 x900e + $250 (on sale) tv stand and $50 HD antenna for $2300. I told them I had a deal through teletime in ON for $1800 + $150 shipping (which was true) and i needed a TV stand/antenna anyway, could they make me a comparable offer? I told them the ON offer was $1800 tv +$150 shipping + $300 stand (rough retail for a decent stand) +$50 antenna = $2300. They were able to match that. Ask for Dean.

Well you did add $300 worth of stuff that has a 500% margin for them.

How is LG 75UJ657A compared to Sony XBR75X900E?
I couldn't find the review of this LG TV on rtings.com

AV2001 sales rep told me they will be selling Samsung mu8000 75 inch for $2700. Sounds like a great deal. Sale will start a week before Black Friday.

I know the MU8000 has decent reviews (the Sony still trumps it according to rtings) but would you actually want an edge lit 75"?

I would assume that must be a disaster when it comes to blooming, light leakage in the corners and all that?

Will 1080p content look worse on the X900E than my current native 1080p TV? I know that 1080p looks poor on 4K PC monitors, so before I jump I want to make I won't be blowing 2G's for a downgraded experience.

Depends on the content and these high end set will have powerful CPU to upscale. You can't get stuck in the past, 4K is the future and you will probably buy the next best thing before this set even dies.

My Nintendo Switch looks pretty good and it's 1080. Similarly, watching 720p streams aren't too bad.

What is the size of your current TV and what is the size of the TV you want?

TT quoted me $3499 in October when they called me. Seems a bit steep, but would strongly consider at $2999 price point. Hopefully we see that on BF.
