Venza or MDX?

I am trying to decide between the Venza 6 cyl AWD or the MDX. Normally the MDX costs much more than the Venza but now Acura has the cash and conquest deal on that you can take 11,500 off the price so the difference between the 2 is just a few thousands. Please advise which one is better?

If you can afford the extra thousands on the purchase price + the higher gas cunsumption (also requires super) and more expansive repair and insurrance cost then the MDX 2009 is the best buy for you.

There is to much hype around the Venza, there's no space to negocite.

I'm not really in the market right now, but if i could get
the base 2009 mdx for 38 000$+tx OTD i would probably be a buyer (did not test drive it yet)

Station wagon vs. SUV

The vehicles are in two totally different markets, just make sure you are buying the one that satisfies your needs.

Personally, the MDX is the 'better' buy of the two ($11,500 off takes care of a lot of depreciation).

They both had exceptionally comfortable seats and seating positions. Cargo capability favors the MDX as well as a 3rd row for short trips with 7 people.

The MDX had plenty of power. Handling was smooth and visibility was great. I ended up buying the MDX!

car show is coming up, sit in both imho and ride both before making a decision. But if i had a choice i'd go with the mdx

I agree with your conclusion but MDX is just as much a wagon as the Venza, it's just taller (because of the extra ground clearance) and can sit two additional passengers (really small ones, mind you) - but the rest of the dimensions, unibody construction, and a FWD-biased AWD system are pretty similar. I don't think that additional ground clearance alone makes the MDX an SUV and the Venza a wagon.

There's more to starting up cost when we are calculating the total amount of cash the vehicle will burn you. For example, gas mileage, what type of gas the car takes, how much parts cost when you need to repair it, etc. For one thing I'm sure Venza parts will be cheaper than MDX parts. I've heard Venza takes regular fuel as well, no sure about the MDX. Gas mileage for the Venza is definitely better.

Also considering things like insurance costs.

In the end it might be more than "just a few thousand dollars". Take your preferences and draw the line.

the venza is a really nice car. But b/c it's so new, not much you in negotiation room. MDX is a really nice truck, better deal. I don't remember the specs but if the base comes with the cylinder deactivation system, I'm in.

The MDX definitely seems like a better buy. Also, I would believe that Acura's service >> Toyota. Since the Venza is not a Lexus, you wouldn't get the same service as the MDX.

The acceleration in the 2008 is fairly slow however it is very comfortable to drive. It is quite costly to drive. 16L of premium fuel for every 100 KM you drive. Depreciation is also insane; bought the Elite for $63000 (including the 8000 cash discount) and the car is now worth less than $50K. The parts for the MDX would not be much more than for the Pilot. It's a Honda, just give it gas and regular oil changes.

This is a rather odd comparison... If you can afford a MDX, maintenance and operating cost will definitely be higher, but you get luxury!

Venza on the other hand is more econo compare to MDX... Depend on your income!

For me, Venza looks great, good on gas, and decent size! Of course I put my finance into perspective! If I make over $100K.... MDX might be my choice~!

Venza kind of made me regret getting a vibe~
