vertigo virus due to ear infection ?

Has anyone had ear infection that cause dizziness?

my walk in clinic doctor check my ears twice and found nothing wrong. I have been having dizziness while mountain biking.

The doctor won't refer me to specialist. this is frustrating

An ear infection could cause this, but it would have to be an inner ear infection, and not the common outer ear ones you'd get as a kid after swimming at the pool kind of thing. If that's actually the case though, there really isn't a test a GP or walk-in clinic could do because they have to get all up in there to even see if that's the problem.

EDIT-I should add, this kind of infection is quite rare
That's my name...

Is it like the room is being turned upside down/spinning or lightheadedness?

I got diagnosed with BPPV recently and doc kept asking if I had a cold or anything because that's usually what causes it. No symptoms other than the vertigo when I'd lay down or get up and a feeling of pressure on my left ear. Got a list of exercises to do and a nasal steroid to help drain any fluid out of my inner ear. Didn't really need the spray though because after half a day of doing the exercises a few times it went away completely after nearly two weeks of having it.

Had this happen to me.
Wet ear plug caused inner ear infection
Then turned to vertigo.
Got a specialist appointment 3 months later. Ear was all cleared up. But still have vertigo spells.
No help

And finally got relif doing bppv exercises.

Do you have a family doctor? Usually walk-ins may be more hesitant to assume and be too referral happy - if you did return a few times they may refer you then.
