Not everyone has the urge to force their opinions down the throat of others and pad their ego with a post count of 10k+. All kidding aside, since the boards don't require registration, why bother to register if you don't want to ask a question on a particular deal?

I agree with your last sentence. For myself, I still count myself as a lurker of sorts. Signed up in 2004 and not even up to 100 posts. I find that a lot of the posters present themselves to be much more knowledgable on the topic and so I usually end up sitting back and reading what gets posted.

I think one of the main goals of a forum is to share opinions, not force them though, I always find the lurker a bit strange too.

As for post count, I think I easily have over a thousand now but I don't consider it an ego boost, nor do I think it makes people trust me more.

I have to say ...Welcome although I feel like I just became a member myself. I was so proud the day I became a Jr. Member- felt like I just graduated HAHA

I love RFD ithas given me so many deals and gave me so much advice and I myself have been able to give Insurance advice and other crap.

I only lurked for about 6 months when I joined.


I think one of the best deals I got was the 20 bucks for LOTR tickets. If I wouldn't have been watching the HOT DEALS fourms no way would I have scored these tickets. Okay show was not amazing but I took about 10 of my family members so they had fun and it was a nice treat for them.

Anyway what was it that finally made you join?? Did you want to share a deal or ask a question or give an opinion on a particular matter? Just curious?
