Where did you get this info? The via website condition doesn't mention anything about a free child...but it seems true as some of you have called to ask.

But it's confusing, according to your quote above, it sounds like you need to have 2 adults & you get one child..but my understanding is you get %50 off a single adult ticket (after apr 1st) & 1 free child after june 1st. Is that correct?

Plus a lot of people are throwing around the term "kids" (including the title of this thread). Is it 1 child free or in fact "kids" (limit, no limit on # of kids per adult?).

Maybe someone can clarify these details. The scenario i'm looking at is 1 adult & 2 children. What qualifies for what here?

You will need to make a Reservia account if you don't already have one; then, plan on making 2 bookings; 1 for the sunlight discounted adult rate and 1 free child rate, and then another booking for the extra adult, using the same process as mentioned here, to receive the sunlight discount coupon: (Keep in mind that you and your other adult traveler will require a sunlight coupon, the physical one off of the bottle.)

So yes, one adult pays even at a special discounted rate such as the sunlight coupon to receive the 1 free child ticket but the transaction must be booked with only those 2 tickets showing; the adult and the child.
Anyone else in your party will then require another booking.

I tried booking from windsor to london on april 3 but it gave me less than 50% off. The price went from $84 to $51 which is only roughly 40% off.

Where can I get the sunlight coupon?

I saw Sunlight detergent bottles last night in Walmart. It has the VIA rail coupon on it. The Sunlight is selling $7.

I just got back from the Walmart in Dufferin Mall and they have a display at the end of the detergent isle with quite a few. I grabbed 2. They just under $7.. and there are a few of the larger containers for $14-something, too.

If you're selecting Comfort-Discount and the fare is $84, I believe that fare is already discounted. I think even though you select that option, the 50% is taken from the full fare price. Just a guess... too tired to do the math to find out, heh.

You need to have an original coupon. You can book online with the code, but if you don't have the coupon when the ticket is issued at the station, the discount is not honoured.
