Wait, isn't Ottawa to Montreal like a 2 hour drive at most???
So $49 each way x2 and x2 people = $196 plus GST and PST?
That's a bit of a rip off.
Is there something I'm missing that business class offers? Like fully body massages with a happy ending?

Ottawa-Montreal is probably not worth it. But Toronto-Montreal is 5 hours, that's good for a nice meal and access to the open bar!

Business class has open bar and 3 course meals. But note - if you go to www.viarail.ca/deals, you can get web deals in Economy class for $20 each way. Out of Ottawa, that's just $21 with GST each way, so $84 round trip total for 2 people.
I wouldn't call Business class at $49 a rip-off. There are economy class seats if you don't want to pay for business class.

I don't think any carrier directs Business class at cost-conscious travelers. And by the way, unless you get free gas with a car rental, I'm not sure it would be that much cheaper.
