Is it possible to Port a number from a VOIP service, and if so how is this done?
I don't think so. Only cellular numbers from Quebec and Ottawa region for now. But you could forward your phone calls to your VoIP number to Fizz.
And when you call with your Fizz cellular phone, you could go through your VoIP number in order for the people that you call to see your VoIP number.

I think the beta prices should stay as regular prices. With the new plans at PM and Chatr, Fizz regular plans prices would not look attractive at all tbh.

Which companies have you had success with 2FA and Fizz?

Without Fizz fixing the 2FA issue, I think Introductory pricing is premature. Not being able to access your most important accounts, is pretty critical, especially since with Apple once 2FA is turned on, you can't even turn it off! Anyone have any workarounds for other companies?

Was going to move completely to Fizz and started changing my phone number in my accounts then ran into the 2FA issue. Guess can't switch...

cheers,
:)

For me it works with TD. Failed with HSBC as recently as last week.

+1... I just ported out of Fizz due to glitches with even basic SMS. My plan was talk and text only, so Zoomer $22.50 was a no brainer

Just for kicks, after porting out I logged into my account at Fizz and the plan still shows as being active LOL

I'm planning to cancel the Internet (Beta), anyone know how the credit/refund works for the remainder of the month?

I've been taking a good look at Fizz for the past few weeks and I'm strongly considering it. However how is the coverage in the USA and other parts of Canada and what are the roaming add ons? That's the biggest factor for me.

If you travel a lot, the cheapest option is to choose Canada-Wide coverage for an extra $2 a month or Canada/US coverage for an extra $8 a month. No extra roaming fees.

I go to the USA for a few weeks a year plus the odd day trip to Vermont (I'm in Montreal.) Who's the US carrier that they use?

Let's try this again:

It's that time of the month again, data gifting! I've got a few GB to share so send me a PM if you'd like 500MB sent your way.

Thanks!

It's AT&T in rural area.

I just used it in Alberta for a week. I didn’t have any problems with the coverage.

Been using the service for about a week and a half. My summary so far:

- Good in the coverage zone for sure. It’s usable and sometimes faster than the big three depending on what part of the city you’re in.
- 3G calling (not a deal breaker). Although I’ve had 5 or 6 dropped calls/ busy signal immediately which is weird
- There ARE dead zones where the big three would be active, although out of the coverage zone. Had phone calls not work nor data in the rural areas.

If you are in a city centre all of the time it’s more than feasible to switch. I’m debating on using the credits and finding a similar plan with less data on a Tier 2 provider (I usually use 2-4GB a month). I just don’t want to be out of the city for work and in a dead zone.
