But if I were you, I'd go for a receiver with more memory and/or faster processor. There's not much price diff.

Price
What should I expect to pay for a decent receiver? This one is well priced. $150 and it is negotiable if I buy more than one.

Are you planning to resell? If yes, well, don't bother for cons and pros, you can sell them pretty fast.
The prices are around $150 + $10 CAD, except for coolsat 6000 which is the one of most expensive ones in its class. They all come with a cable and a switch.

Pros and Cons
If they are a decent unit, I will try to get a group together, so we can get a volume discount.

Yes they are.
Also you might want to consider Captiveworks CW-600S Premium and Coolsat 6000. They're both, IMO, descent units and carry better features. CW is much cheaper though, with somewhat the same features as coolsat.

Coolsat
I just called the dealer. They only have the Viewsats in stock. My best price is $135 each for 10 or more.

worth the money but I would read the forums and maybe hold off for a week or so until things get worked out.

$135 is a nice price.. I have not gotten em at that price but it could also be because of the recent FTA dark nights!!
Don't buy FTA units right now unless if its truly for Free to Air. Wait it out.
Pay $10-30 bucks more! But instead you won't have to deal with worthless investment. I have a few units that I used for myself left but I wont sell them to anyone because I don't feel right about it.

Update
Thanks for the great advice. I think I will wait. Read the rumors about the total blackout by the end of June.
Edit *** June 5 ***
Viewsats are all operational, should I wait a little longer?
