It's not really that surprising, I mean the idea isn't original. No idea is original; everything has been thought of before. So really... he just took one version of the idea and ran with it. So what? I think it's ridiculous someone's suing him for it. I mean come on, who hasn't thought of doing something similar? I know I had (just not in a movie, as real life).

Jessie Keyser, 13, believes that the year is 1840. In truth, she and her family, along with a small group of others, live in a reconstructed village viewed by unseen modern tourists and used as an experimental site by unethical scientists. Jessie discovers the truth when her mother asks her to leave the village and seek medical help for the diptheria epidemic that has struck the children of the community.

My wife laughed at me. I was so pissed at the movie that I threw a pillow at the TV. Then I jumped straight here to rant! Sorry to resurrect such an old topic.

And yes, the blind chick is hot, considering she is Richie Cunningham's daughter

And incidentally, could someone please explain to me where all of the other adults in the Village came from? If there were 3 or 4 original couples that started that place, how did the others get there? Why would they be so apt to believe the stories about the creatures? Help! It doesn't make any sense.
