[Virgin Mobile] $40/6gb + unl talk&text OR $45/6gb + unl talk&text AND silver tab *migration offer*

I know threads have touched on this in the past but I wanted to create a thread to summarize how to get this deal. These cell plans/deals are quite good IMO. They are migration plans which allow you a special price when migrating from Lucky Mobile prepaid to Virgin Mobile post-paid (monthly bill). You can try going Virgin prepaid to Virgin post-paid but I think the wait time is 3 months vs 1 month with Lucky. With the member benefits of Virgin I do feel that they are better than Koodo now with Koodo's tab system cancel loophole being closed off recently. Down to business:

step 1 - go grab a Lucky Mobile sim card for $4 @ Dollarama OR you may be able to get one free @ Walmart nowadays with new Lucky prepaid activation.
step 2 - head over to Walmart mobile kiosk and load $15 and create a new account on Lucky Mobile prepaid. ($15 should get you their unlimited text plan with 100 mins of talk)
step 3 - go home and pop that Lucky sim into a cell phone just to get it up and running and make sure the activation took effect.
step 4 - wait approx 35 days for the migration offer to load on Virgin's system (30 days might suffice but 35 days or so for good measure)
step 5 - go to Virgin Mobile and give them your Lucky Mobile phone # and ask them to load the offers available to you on the prepaid Lucky account and tell them you'd like to migrate your Lucky # to Virgin post-paid. Or better yet, go to Walmart or The Mobile Shop kiosk and ask them to do this migration for you and if you so choose to get the silver tab plan with a device, you may just get a gift card for that store if they have gift card giveaway promos for new sign-ups at that time.

Keep in mind there are other offers with the migration plans but I just think these two are best. Below is a short list of the migration deals you should be eligible for once the wait period is over from Lucky. All come with unlimited talk and text I do believe.

BYOP 30 - 2GB
Silver 35 - 2GB
Gold 45 - 2GB
BYOP 40 - 6GB
Silver 45 - 6GB
Gold 55 - 6GB
BYOP 50 - 8GB
Silver 55 - 8GB
Gold 65 - 8GB

If you wait 35 days, don't you need to load another $15 in lucky before migration?

i saw it at my local virgin store. Apparently, they have some old numbers available but I need to pay $35 for it.
I am still deciding if I should switch 2 of my numbers to $30 2gb plan and $50 8GB plan with free iphone 8.

Pay $35 and get everything on the same day
or
Pay $4 sim + $15 plan + wait 35 days.
Total : $19 + wait 35 days.

$35-$19 = $16 extra without waiting

Hm weird
I have 4 sim cards, all a few months old, that had migration offers till last week
Someone posted on one of the migration threads that Virgin stopped offering the plans so I checked my 4 numbers and none of the plans were listed anymore for any number

news to me. Do you know the cut-off date for when you needed to sign up with lucky to still be eligible?

I went on Sept 4th. I'm not sure the expiry date but will go and check sometime this week. Do they have any referral program at Virgin or Bell?

And do we really have to wait for 35 days before we can get the migrate offer? I want to save the extra $16 XD

35 days is a long time. I’m sure plans and policies will change.

There isn't a cut off day really, the plans just don't exist in the system anymore when checking Lucky numbers
(again, unless they reintroduced them since I haven't checked since the 7th. Maybe it was temporary?)

There's a post on Sept 6 in this thread about the plans being disabled and I checked my accounts Sept 7 and there was nothing offered anymore

You do have to wait 35 days unfortunately since the plans don't show up until after 35 days in the persons account

Just logged into my account. Migration offers still there.
The Virgin pre to post ones are still ongoing but Lucky Mobile had about 15 different migration plans to choose from
Koodo, Fido, Telus, Public Mobile, Virgin customer.

I called my friend at TMS and she said not yet, it’s not showing up from my account and I have two pages full of virgin deals two weeks ago.

I am sure there must be some explanation that those deals are showing for you but it’s not showing for me as of 6 minutes ago. And she is a reliable mobilist who knows what she is talking about.

Is this only available through lucky mobile? Can I not do this with other companies (ie Koodo)?

It’s a prepaid to postpaid migration deal and worked only with bell owned NXX or external NXX migrated in bellverse for 30+ days.

hey Navie, is this an issue where you have to maintain the Lucky account active (paid up) and not let it lapse? Will the migration offer not be offered or lost If you let the Lucky or Virgin prepaid account lapse after having been active for the first 30 or so days?
