you are wrong. he is within 14 days...based on his date of purchase he has another week plus to return. i msyelf grabbed this phone from virgin and when calling to try and get caller id i was told that if i wanted to return with no fees or anything i could do so for 14 days...there is no fee as you allege. its not the same with all companies. you are mistaken.

You will be able to return the product, you won't be able to sign out of the contract unless you pay a certain fee. It's the same with all companies.

Thanks for doing this. I have a few questions. I'm looking around for a prepaid phone plan, my first actually. The 35Cent anytime is sufficient for my needs. I know it comes with caller id, unlimited incoming text, and voicemail 10 (what is this? 10 voicemail limit?). Have much does it cost to send a text?
I am at a temporary location for 8 months. Is there a charge if I want to change numbers?
Are there any non-data smart phones you recommend?

voicemail 10 means u can save 10 messages
there is no charge to change numbers, i think on pre-paid, u can do it online yourself
non-data smartphones? samsung gio
you do need to change the plan to the smartphone one if u want to change your phone to the iphone.
i dont know if its the same like rogers, but i am sure that the smartphone one can work on both bberries and iphones_______________

Hey Snake,
Thanks for doing this thread. I am thinking of getting my daughter the Bold 9900 and putting it on the 3-yr $40 with BBM, FB, Twitter and My Space, with 200 min, eve/w-e 6 pm - 7 am, and 10 buddies, and NO real browser data. Questions:- Can she use wifi where available the same way if she were on the data plan?
- What is considered long-distance if I go with a 905 number in Aurora and how much choice do I have in number selection and area code selection?
- Can Virgin lock down the account so accidental real browser data is never used?
- If the phone is lost/stolen, what are my options/costs?
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Snake,
What are the differences (pros/cons if any) with dealing with a "real" Virgin booth/store vs. doing a Virgin deal at a Costco "Wireless etc." or a mall "Wireless Wave" (which are the same AFAIK)?
Is there a flag-ship Virgin store in the GTA where decision makers (i.e. retentions style) are available, or is all such negotiation handled via the customer service phone?

2 questions.
- If I choose to take advantage of Virgin's 14 days guarantee, can I still keep my phone number and port out?
- Is there any chance of getting additional discounts on the 9900?
Thank you._______________

1. I dont think i understand the question... but yes she can use wifi even though she doesn't have a data plan
2. I would use this as a guide (http://www.localcallingguide.com/lca...hp?exch=151960) You can do the area code and the last 4 digets, all exchanges are pre determined
3. What i have seen on blackberries is that when you try and go to the browser, you get a message that basically says that your the browser can't be accessed under your current plan. I dont know if there is a way around it tbh, but you should be fine!
4. Your SOL, You can either buy a new phone outright from us, buy a phone from someone else like RFD, or u can cancel your contract or tab
There are none tbh. Costco can offer you gift cards. Wireless wave reps have the ability to do "back door techniques" to get you approved.
in regards to you second question there are none, sorry.
its all done over the phone.
I wouldn't port in, get a temp number and use that for 14 days. You might lose your number so just avoid the situation.
PM me and we can discuss the 9900Last edited by XxXSnake23XxX; Sep 12th, 2011 at 09:58 PM.

Thanks for the info. In your opinion, will RIM survive based on your front-line observations of consumer interest/purchasing or are they doomed in the face of Android and iPhones?
What do you say to those like me, thinking of getting a 3-yr on the 7 (mature?) BB 9900 vs. waiting a little longer for the QNX based ones like the Colt (rushed to market?) just around the corner or something like half-way through the contract?

As of right now, I am not seeing any decline what-so-ever in RIM sales compaired to droids and iphones. TBH since the new berries came to Virgin I have seen sales of berries go up! Honestly, this month, all I have sold have been berries!
My android mix for the month is terrible!
Its based on the fact that Virgin is making it hard for me to sell android. Since there is a 40 mybuddies plan for blackberries it makes them easier to sell. Virgin wants us to push droid but it is hard when they limit the plans per device. Also you CANT do the $40 android social anymore on the high end devices... The company is such a FAIL
Go with the 3-year and just flip the phone when the new QNX devices come out._______________
