The BYOP $5 discount also apply this this $20 plan right?
canada-wide 100 minutes
unlimited canada-wide 7pm & weekend
50 canada/us/international texts
no-commitment data
...so $15 after discount?
Thanks!

And also, this $20 plan is limited time offered, right?
Just out of curiousity: does this $20 plan exist before? Or it was priced differently?
Thanks!

Yes it applied to every plan
No this isn't a limited time offer and this plan was created just recently

Thanks! I just got the plan at fairview mall. Good deal.
Just out of curiosity, you mean the plan "isn't" a limited time offer? It's here to stay?

Oh yes, just to confirm with you, both offers of first month free and $5 off talk and text plan cannot be combined, because the first month free requires you to buy phone from them, while the $5 off requires you to bring your own phone.
I signed up already.

Unlimited mobile browsing on smartphones
Hi Snake,
I have been searching about the possibility to do a hardware upgrade (from Samsung Impact with SIM) on a talk and text per minute plan with $10/Mo UMB add-on (which is grandfathered), to a smartphone. I found in another thread that this is possible with Bell as long as the APN isn't changed, should be proxy.bell.ca or pda.bell.ca.
Some people tried it and it works with no extra charge on using the web browser or even apps. Can you confirm this info? If I want to go to a kiosk and buy a phone outright or bring an unlocked phone, then just ask that my sim be transferred with the exact plan to the new smartphone and WITHOUT altering the UMB, will this be possible?
Please see this thread, people have been able to do this on various smartphones, including iphones, but not Blackberries.

Thanks for your help.

I do remember that we offered unlimited web browsing for $10,
I dont see why i wouldn't work on smartphones, although i have never seen it done myself personally.
When you decide to go to a kiosk and get it done, you have to be sure that you are buying the phone OUTRIGHT at the full price.
You do a HDW Upgrade on your account getting the phone for 0, say buy buy to you $10 bundle.
When you buy it outright, as the rep to just do a SERIAL # Change, this will just put the new sim and IMEI on the account, not changing the rate plan in anyway.
Honestly, i dont see why i wouldn't work on a smartphone, let alone a super phone. good luck!

Great! Thanks for the info Snake. Will it be the same if I get an unlocked phone from somewhere else and take it to the kiosk for serial # and IMEI update?
And I will not get charged for data with the new smartphone right?
Thanks
Thanks

Same thing,
getting charged is a different thing, you know know until you do it. Again, i dont have any experience with the unlimited WB personally, but if people say it works then i dont see why not

Uhrr... I just received my bill today...
I felt that the sale representative lied to me. He said that the data charge is incremental as in that if I use 200mb, I should be charged $12.5 or somewhere between $10-15 (100mb-300mb). However, I received the bill today that I use ~16mb, and I was charged $5. Should it be somewhere between $0-5?
Can someone explain to me before I call the customer representative? Thanks.

Your data is incremental, but not how you think it is. If you use up to 25mb, you pay $5, nothing less. If you use between 25 and 100 mb, you pay $10. Nothing less. The increments are $5, $10, $15, $20 and $30. There aren't any in-between increments.

But that's not what the sale person at the virgin booth told me... oh well

1) I had family visiting so I needed to get them a phone and I told the sales rep that I will only be needing a phone for a month-1.5 months. He mentioned "not an issue, just call virgin a few days before you want to cancel and they will do it. no need for a month notice" turns out this was false and I had to pay 1 month use for my second line which wasnt being used.
2) I added unlimited calls and the previous months were revised to adjust for this. I was told that the current bill would be reduced by 80 dollars and to pay 80 less than the bill amount. I did that and took the phone reps details. Since then I have been constantly harassed for that amount. I keep stating that I was told not to pay that amount. I gave them the details of the rep and the date/time of call. no one got back to me. I mentioned that I was being harassed (2-3 calls/day). They gave me a 50 dollar coupon
3) With no revision to my bill for the 80 amount I decided to close my account. I was then told that the 50 dollar coupon will be taken back.
I get horrible customer service, reception and reps have been useless.
Not questions, but just my experience with virgin.
