Hisense 58" 4K Roku Smart LED TV Visions -W/FS, W/2Yr. Warr., $398 ($386 ISPU) /Costco $389 ($376.99 shipped)

Deal Link:
Price:
398
Expiry:
January 9, 2020
Retailer:
Visions/Costco
Starting tomorrow 11/22
Visions has this 58" 58R6009 Hisense Smart 4K Roku LED for $398. Not sure yet if it will be free shipped or in store only.
This looks to be a new release for the holidays, either it's a slightly modded 58R6109 or more likely just the same TV with a new model number for the seasonal door crashers.
The R6109's are pretty good budget TV's, so if these are the same they might be worthwhile.
Costco and the R6109 would be preferable for their return and warranty policies, but if they don't offer this price online or in the west, it might be a good option from Visions.
If so try to negotiate the extended warranty down to Costco levels +3 years for $30

So yes, free shipping on this at Visions. If you order online for ISPU, you get $11.94 off for $386.06

11/23

Walmart has the same 58R6009 for $398 shipped too.

Costco has the 58R6109 now at $396.99 online shipped.

11/29

OOS online for a while at Costco.
Still some available in store at Costco for $389

Visions is on In Store Only, so no free shipping any longer. $398

Walmart is still shipping at $398

12/5

Costco is still at $389 on the 58R6109 in store only until 12/8
Best option, if possible, due to the 90 day return, 2 year warranty, $30 + 3 year warranty extension.

Visions is back to free shipping on the 58R6009 until 12/5, $12 off if you Order online for ISPU. 2 year warranty w/signup

Walmart is at $478 shipped on the 58R6009 now

12/6

Costco has added the 58R6109 back online shipped for $396.99 less $20 Email Promo code for $376.99
In Store still $389.

Vision has extended the $398 price in store or online with free shipping until 12/12. $386 if you order online for ISPU

12/20

Pricing was extended at all three vendors until 12/26

1/2/20

Costco has extended the pricing until 2/9.

So uh what's wrong with these cheap 4k TVs? Or this is normal. The Sony TVs are a thousand plus more. I don't get it. Four years ago I got a Fluid 55" 1080p DLED HDTV Refurbished for 380 CAD and it's mind boggling to me that a 4K new is the same price now. And you get a Roku with it... My (external) graphics card has HDMI 2.0b if that Roku is not enough...

Not too much wrong. These are decent 4K TVs that do the things that most average buyers want them to do for $400. If you want higher end performance then spend a few hundred, or less, more for a TCL 6 series or Hisense 8 series.
Some of this pricing is Black Friday induced, a TV like this was around $500 last week, but the rest is the Chinese manufacturers like TCL, Hisense/Sharp being able to make and distribute TVs with competitive features for less than the big three without massive advertising budgets.

I would also recommend checking your local Costco for the instore and online price today. High probability that they have extended their $399 price on the 58R6109 to other areas that didn't have that pricing.

I haven't owned a TCL 4 Series, but I do have a 55R6109. From what I've heard from users of both, I think you would be better to take the 3 inches and the Hisense at $399, depending on your usage.
BTW the Hisense 55R6109 is now $349 at Costco in store.

Same other than size?

Watch mostly just movies and TV shows. We have 2 $150 RCA 1080p 43 inchers so don't need much. I expect these will be much better picture quality?

As the 55" is $ 349 in-store ($429 online), I wonder if the 58" will go down to $ 369 come BF as it's $449 online.

Then I think either would be an improvement.
I am really happy with my budget Hisense and I think I would probably pick one over a similar budget TCL if the size and price were the same. So if you are getting 3 extra inches of screen, for the same price, I think there would be no question what I would buy.

It might or might not. At least if you get one you can get price protection or buy something else on BF then return if it goes down or there is a better deal.
I have messed up like that in the past. Waited for BF or BD letting deals go by on what I wanted and then OOS or not featured on BF/BD.

What about H8 series for 548 or Q8 series for 598? Is it worth the extra? Maybe also $20 off with coupon.
