Well, I am going to be reformatting my computer quite soon, and was thinking about installing Vista on it.
Is it worthwhile to do it? Or is there no real point yet?
I haven't heard a lot about Vista even after it's release for quite a long time...

I need to format my computer too and will try installing Vista on it. Our 640m laptop came with Vista and I like the new interface. It's a bit more sluggish than XP but at least it's something new.
As long as your computer can handle it, why not.

Halo 2 used to be the only reason for me to "get" ;-) vista since it would only work on that crappy OS thanks to Microshit which ran pretty slow considering the graphics in the game suck. But a couple weeks ago a group released a crack to run the game on XP and it runs 50% FASTER on XP, I can put everything maxed out at 4X AA!!!!!!!!!! In fact, Everything runs faster on xp.. Vista is bloated garbage.

Argh, why can't people search? This will only turn into a flamewar with the same arguments back and forth... again!

Here we go ......................... again ................ *sigh* ......
red120 ... You will not get any conclusion from a thread like this. Search this forum and you will see what we mean.
If I were you, I will go ahead and give Vista a try with an open mind. If you like it and everything works out fine, great ... keep it. If not, go back to XP and give it another try when they have SP1.Last edited by willy; Jul 1st, 2007 at 05:49 PM.

I'm going to refrain from posting any "controversial" stuff on this thread...
I like Vista a lot. I'll just leave it at that.

If you like useless eye candy, Vista. Otherwise, XP. I'm using win98se.

i think everything run faster in windows 2000 professional.
vista is slow even with 2gb ram. it needs 256 mb high end graphics card to make windows load faster.

Here is what I have to say
I have an high end machine and have dual boot (XP pro and Vista Ultimate)
I use XP as my main OS as a PC
I use Vista only for DX10 gaming
I would say if you just want DX10 gaming, then use Vista, if not, then stick with XP.
