Why do I keep calling coming back here? I just purchased the Costco blendtec for 297 and now I see this! Which one to get. I know this is refurbished but it has a 30 day money back guarantee if I’m not satisfied. What to do ? From a lot of online reviews ...seems the Vitamix is a better all around blender ?
I'm stuck in the same boat as you. Whether to get Costco brand new Designer Blendtec with the free jars or get this one from Vitamix

I will check the exact model when I get home in 2 hours and will post back. I haven't tried any thick dips yet but will later this week. (The queso was thin in the blender and then thickened on the stove.)
Please update us what model they sent u. Thanks!

The front of my Vitamix doesn't say what model but the back says Model: VM0102B. When I look online, that looks like a blanket model # for all reconditioned units, I think. According to Vitamix it could be any of the following machines: Professional Series® 500, 6300, 6500 or Total Nutrition Center 3. It looks like all of those models are the same except some say the model on the front, ie: 6300.

Sorry to not be much help!

Two words: hot soup

Might be old news, but this sort of blew my mind. I wasn't a big soup guy until I bought on of these reconditioned Vitamixes awhile back.

Ingredients
1/4 (43 g) small onion, peeled.
1/2 tablespoon olive oil.
1 (270 g) sweet potato, baked.
1/2 (75 g) apple, seeded.
1 (70 g) carrot, halved.
1 vegetable bouillon cube.
1 1/2 cups (360 ml) water.

Directions
In a saucepan, sauté onion in olive oil for 5 minutes or until tender.
Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.
Select Variable 1.
Turn machine on and slowly increase to the highest speed. (or just select the soup setting)
Blend for 5-6 minutes or until heavy steam escapes from the vented lid. Serve immediately.

Welcome to soup country!

Can anyone comment on cleaning? Reviews make it seems more difficult than Blendtec - but I thought you just add soapy water and blend?

Fill half of it with warm water and drop liquid soap and leave it running for a minute.

I don't understand why people prefer something refurbished/reconditioned more expensive, than something new cheaper from Costco

Costco is cheaper how? I see $499 cheapest as the most comparable model, but still doesn't have the preset programs, I would say these would typically go for $599

https://www.costco.ca/Vitamix-Total-Nut ... 19807.html

So $170 savings

Also these come with a 5 year warranty vs 7 year from buying new.. 2 years worth of extra warranty is not worth $170 to me

He's talking about the blendtec thread.

But on the whole seems like vitamix produces a better blend.
